Happy, Healthy, Growing Boy!

Hello everyone! Brayden is growing like a weed these days and is weighing in at 12pounds 6 ounces. He has also grown to 23 inches. Sue and I were pretty much right on with his weight but the doctor made it official this past week when he went for his 9 week check-up......he actually is 10 weeks old today. Poor little fella is still looking like his dad though, maybe its just the bald head, but he does have Sues demeanor....oh yeah, he also like to take up most of the bed just like his momma :). Brayden did get 5 shots last week, Sue said it broke her heart to see his little eyes light up when that needle went in. I was telling a guy at work about the shots and Sues reaction and he started tearing up remembering when he took his 2 daughters for their first shots....must be a pretty hard thing to watch as a parent. Sue and Brayden were in MD a few weeks ago and got to see Great Gram, Keith, Phil, Linda, Debbie, Fallon, Kyle, Camille, and Heather......from what I understand it was a pretty event full trip since it snowed the whole way there and turned a 4 hour trip into a 6 hour journey....I want to thank JoAnn(Sues Mom) for riding in my place! We hired a Nanny for Brayden today for when Sue goes back to work on February 19th, her name is Jen and she has been a nanny in the past for a family in Minnesota before moving here with her husband who is in the Navy. She is a very nice girl and we are sure that she is going to take great care of the little guy and be able to have the one-on-one interaction during the day. The dogs will also enjoy because now they will have another person they cant train into letting them outside 100 times a day. I hope everyone is doing well and I hope you all enjoy the new pictures!!!

MY BIG FAT BELLY!!!!!

Hello everyone!!!! Brayden is growing fast and now weighs about 12 or 13 pounds. The weight is unofficial since he doesn't go for his 2 month check-up until next week but Sue and I took turns weighing him yesterday at the hospital. When we weighed ourselves with him we were 13 pounds heavier!!!! What a little chunky monkey he is becoming......doesn't surprise me though because he eats all the time! We were at the hospital yesterday because Arynne finally had her baby, one week late.....he is a BIG baby weighing in at 9 pounds 5 ounces!!! Brayden is doing great though, he is starting to blow bubbles so he is drooling on everything, he is also starting to laugh out loud at times! I think he is going to be an earlier walker because he had very strong legs....I walked at 6 months and never crawled so if he acts like me we will be chasing him around the house in a few months!! Sue is taking Brayden to Maryland this weekend so this will be his first road trip and hotel stay, her mom is going along as well!! Anyway...hope you all enjoy the pictures!

After the Holiday........

Well the crazy holidays are officially over and we can all get back to our calm lives! This was Braydens 1st Christmas and it was spent partying night after night! Brayden had his first dose of the neighborhood Christmas party on 12/15 and made it through the night sleeping soundly in his sling even though there were a ton of noisy people! The neighbor girls gave Brayden some books for him when he gets older, their mother told us it was one thing that kept her sane and the books never got old. Sue usually reads to Brayden while feeding him or sings nursery rhymes which I think is pretty stimulating for a baby. We then had Sue's office party here on the 20th and everyone had a blast playing Chinese Christmas and eating a fried Turkey...thanks for not burning my house down Jason!!! Christmas was held at our house this year with my side of the family and we had Christmas Eve with Sue's side of the family. Brayden received a million gifts from everyone and I think that will be a trend going forward. Right now he is the youngest grandchild....at least for the next 9 days until Arynne(Jeremy's Sister) has her new baby. Everything has been going extremely well, there are a few sleepless nights, but other then that he just eats...and eats.. and eats...Brayden has been packing on the pounds, he finally has little fat thighs and chubby cheeks, I would think he probably weighs close to 10 pounds now...Oh yeah....for those of you who dont know, our baby doesn't sleep......he stays up about 18 hours a day and loves the hours of 4am to 7am for his time to be bright eyed!!! Oh well.....it has been ok since we are both home, I am sure it wont be as much fun when we go back to work, the lack of rest will catch up. Anyway, he are some pictures from the Holidays. I hope you all enjoy them!!!!

Happy Holidays!

Brayden is doing very well and adjusting to everything so far!!! The baby took his first bottle a few days ago and doesn't seem to have a care in the world where his food comes from as long as he is able to eat when he wants to. Last night he had his first bottle with formula and took to it very well. We are finding that if he feeds from a bottle it takes about 10-15 minutes for him to get about 4 ounces in him, compare that to 1 hour when he gets the real thing! For some reason he likes to sleep when he breastfeeds and then realizes he is hungry about every 5 minutes or so, so it takes a little longer. The bottles will definitely help Sue get a little more sleep at night since I will be able to do some feedings. Sue is getting a little sleep but it is very hard to come by these days. We heard some where that babies like to sleep 18 hours a day.....well our little man likes to stay awake 18 hours a day, then feed the other 6....not really sure when he sleeps!! It has been a lot of fun watching him get bigger as the days go by, he is starting to laugh and smile as well, and really recognizes your voice when you speak to him. Brayden also loves this little duck rattle with a bell in it, every time he sees it he reaches out for it and starts to smile!! Overall, everything is great and we cant wait for him to start growing up more and more as we go on! I have included a few more pictures with this blog...hope you all enjoy them!!

New Pictures of Brayden

Hello everyone!! We wanted to send out an update and post some new pictures of Brayden. Brayden has been doing well and is getting settled into a little routine!! It is so great to be able to experience a new baby...the lack of sleep makes you delirious but all the little joys and a smiling face make up for that! Brayden is a very easy going baby, he really only fusses when he needs to eat or be changed. As of right now he is letting us get a little sleep at night because he likes to feed around 12:30, 2:30, and 5:30am.....little cat naps in between feedings are great for us to get a little sleep. Brayden is really enjoying the car, once it stops though he gets a little impatient and wants it to start again.....we cant figure out where he gets those impatient bones from :). Susan is getting back into her little jeans, she was so excited to get back into them this past Sunday....yes....after only 11 days and she looks great!!! She is doing well and her scar is healing up very nicely. As for me, I am responsible for the diaper changes and swaddling!!!! I think I have been peed on more times then I can remember, but I get a little quicker with each diaper!!!! I guess that's what you get with a growing baby boy who likes to eat. Anyway....here are some updated pictures and our first family picture together. I hope you all enjoy and we'll keep you updated!!

Brayden Visits Santa

Brayden has been doing so well since coming home from the hospital. Today we decided to take Brayden to the mall to have his picture taken with Santa. We purposely went to the mall in the middle of the day so we could beat the rush of all the nightly and weekend shoppers, and to our delight we were one of only two people waiting to see Santa. Brayden took this time to sleep like a sound hibernating bear rather then be up for his first official photo shoot. Luckily for us Santa's Helpers were more then prepared for a sleeping baby and took his picture with a sleeping Santa. I hope everyone enjoys this picture and we will be sure to get more out when we can!
